Zonta Club Dortmund Benefit Evening: Dr. Soul & Marilyn Boadu Band - The Spirit of Black Music

Black Music is more than a sound - it is a story of resistance, longing, and self-assertion born from the songs of the African American population during slavery in the USA. Marilyn Boadu returns to the stage with her band, performing songs by Aretha Franklin, Chuck Berry, Tina Turner, Ray Charles, Sade, and Beyoncé. Dr. Soul - the alter ego of Ingo Grabowski, known as Dr. Schlager - accompanies the evening and presents the history of Black Music and its protagonists in an engaging way: "What you want, baby, I got it"!

The evening is a benefit event of Zonta Club Dortmund, which volunteers to support women and girls in Dortmund and fights violence against women worldwide. Proceeds go to the Dortmund Women's Overnight Shelter of the Diaconia and to a Zonta International project - including efforts to end child marriage.
