Polynation

Polynation is a Dutch music duo known for their eclectic blend of electronica, ambient and world music, winning over audiences worldwide - on festival stages, club dance floors and through home speakers alike. Their distinctive organic and cinematic sound grows out of live improvisation, forming the backbone of both carefully crafted studio tracks and compelling live performances.

Tied together by melancholic chord progressions, driving rhythms and electroacoustic textures, the duo's adventurous soundscapes are raw, sensory experiences shaped with real finesse. On record or live, their music is expansive and immersive, rich in melodic depth that draws from ambient, pop, minimalism and techno. Since 2015, Stijn Hosman and Hessel Stuut have worked with Dutch label Atomnation, releasing three EPs and their acclaimed debut album Igneous. They have also remixed Joep Beving for Deutsche Grammophon and won over tastemakers like Gilles Peterson with their intricate studio craft.

Polynation keeps evolving, honing a beautifully layered sound that has clocked over 20 million streams on Spotify alone. Their dynamic live sets have graced festivals including Best Kept Secret, Wildeburg, Secret Garden Festival, ADE and DGTL, as well as clubs across Europe - delivering both soothing interludes and wild, high-energy rhythms at 2 a.m. with equal style and precision.

The duo draws on a wide range of instruments: drums, analogue synthesizers, piano, kalimba, bass, electric guitar, pedals, tape delays and saxophone. These acoustic sources, blended with electronic signals, give their material a singular quality inspired by the endless beauty of the natural world.
