Jan Fleischhauer - Das Mehrheitsparadox

Journalist and bestselling author Jan Fleischhauer delivers a lecture on his book "Das Mehrheitsparadox". He explores a phenomenon of our time: many people feel isolated with their views - only to discover with surprise that others think similarly but remain silent. Why does this sense of missing representation emerge, and what are its consequences for our democracy?

Fleischhauer was born in 1962 and studied philosophy and literature at Hamburg University. After 30 years at "Der Spiegel" - including roles as Berlin bureau chief and economics correspondent in New York - he joined Focus in 2019. He is the author of several bestsellers, including "Unter Linken" and "How Dare You! Vom Vorteil eine eigene Meinung zu haben, wenn alle dasselbe denken". His columns rank among Germany's most widely read and debated opinion pieces.
