The Sold Grandfather - Theater Lindenhof

A grandfather sold off like livestock - but the old man knows how to fight back! A comedy full of wit, peasant cunning, and surprising twists.

The grandfather lives on his son-in-law's farm, where he causes no end of trouble and the finances are a constant headache. To make matters worse, the maid quits because she can no longer put up with the old man's cheek. Meanwhile, a wealthy horse trader is trying to marry his daughter off to the farmer's son - which would at least help clear the debts. But the son refuses; he doesn't know the bride at all. The horse trader isn't acting out of goodwill either: he has heard that the grandfather supposedly owns two houses, so he talks the farmer into handing the old man over for a small sum. His plan is to inherit the grandfather's estate after his death. What he hasn't counted on is the sharp-witted old gentleman himself - someone who can handle almost any situation and always has a quick answer ready.
