Migration and Cultural Identity - Cooperative Concert by klangwerk LIED and SWR Vokalensemble
SWR Studio Freiburg, Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany
19 €
Migration and cultural identity are at the heart of this cooperative concert by klangwerk LIED and the SWR Vokalensemble. The programme brings together composers from across Europe who, as emigrants or immigrants - in the first or second generation - lived or live in a foreign country that became a new or adopted home. The question running through the evening: how much do life stories shape the music, and how did migration and relocation change an artist's style and output?
The programme features songs, lieder, scenes and ensemble pieces by Victor Herbert, Thea Musgrave, César Cui, Eugen d'Albert, Tarik O'Regan, Nikolai Medtner, Brian Elias, Alison Bauld and Sadie Harrison.
