Migration - undoubtedly one of the most formative and enduringly relevant topics of our time, with far-reaching effects on both society and art. The programme centres on composers from across Europe who, as first- or second-generation immigrants or emigrants, live in a foreign country that has become a new or second home. What unites them is the social weight of their artistic approach, shaped by personal experience, historical circumstance, and belonging to different cultural communities. How deeply do life stories shape compositions, and how much did migration transform their style and work?
