Sameach - Dance of Words, Sound of Songs

"Sameach" is a Jewish festival of the senses, where dance and music take centre stage. The Leipzig dance ensemble Sameach and the music ensemble The String Company together create a vibrant evening of Israeli dances and songs in Yiddish, Hebrew, and Sephardic traditions. Traditional forms meet contemporary choreography and musical arrangements spanning klezmer, world music, folk, and chanson.

The artistic programme is complemented by the documentary film "Anne Frank - A Living Story" by Horst Edler, which places the evening within a broader historical and social context. The director is present and invites the audience to engage in conversation.
