Julian & Roman Wasserfuhr - Timelines

For many years, Julian and Roman Wasserfuhr have been distinctive voices in German jazz. Clear melodies, an open harmonic language and atmospheric density define their unmistakable "Wasserfuhr-Sound".

For "Timelines", the brothers reunite with two longtime friends: Colombian bassist Camilo Villa (Düsseldorf) and German drummer Dennis Frehse, who has lived in Tokyo for many years. The four musicians have known each other since early collaborative projects but had lost touch for some time. This reunion leads to a quartet in which musical experiences and influences from across the world come together.

The result is a vibrant, rhythmically present and melody-driven band sound. European jazz tradition, Latin American influences and urban impulses from Japan weave together organically, opening up rich possibilities for interaction and tonal colour.

Line-up: Julian Wasserfuhr (trumpet, flugelhorn), Roman Wasserfuhr (piano), Juan Camilo Villa (bass) and Dennis Frehse (drums).

As a special touch: the band brings along a barrel of their own jazz beer!
