Sophie

BY ROOS OUWENHARD
DIRECTED BY KAI WAGNER

At eight years old, Sophie and her friend Daniel plan their future in her bedroom: definitely no children, but at least five dogs. Eighty years later, back in that same room, she dreams of her mother, her father, her son - and of Daniel, who sits beside her and holds her hand.

In between lies an entire life. In twelve scenes, the play unfolds like a picture book - sometimes mundane, sometimes funny, sometimes painful - and always telling of the love between people: a love that sometimes isn't enough, and then again is so strong it can sustain an entire life.

"Sophie" is an extraordinary play because it shows a completely ordinary life.
