When the Hába Quartet takes the stage with charango guitarist Diego Jascalevich, there's no holding back the thrilling interplay between European classical music and Latin American folklore - an experience awaiting you in our special series "Kammerflimmern" at Produktionshaus NAXOS.

During the Frankfurt Radio Symphony's return to the extraordinary industrial architecture of Frankfurt's Naxoshalle, situated on the border of the Ostend, Bornheim, and Nordend districts, South American rhythms and melodies come alive through the Hába Quartet and Argentine musician, vocalist, and composer Diego Jascalevich. His instrument is a small guitar with five double strings, which developed in Bolivia during the colonial period from a Spanish plucked instrument and is today widespread across many regions of South America. The programme brings together music by Argentine, Venezuelan, and Brazilian composers of the 20th and 21st centuries, whose instrumentation with a classical string quartet and charango guitar, as well as their style, marks a fascinating intersection between the European classical tradition and non-European folklore.
