Cats & Breakkies

Cats & Breakkies are four Berliners who bring jazz and techno together in a classic band setup: electric guitar, bass, drums, keys. Their instrumental DJ-live-set works equally well on stages, dance floors, and festival grounds - danceable, with elegiac melodies, opulent breaks, and dense sonic layers, but above all through precise tension-building and expansive sound.

Their 2015 debut album organic electro, produced in collaboration with David August, earned them a 2016 nomination for the "Bremer Jazzpreis" in the "Jazz & Electronics" category. Performances followed at the Kantine am Berghain, the Tallinn Music Festival, and the Berlistanbul festival, among others.

In 2018 came spectral: ten tracks forming three self-contained short sets. Sonic and metric layers are woven together with real craft, disco grooves hit hard, and the build-up and drop dramaturgy lands every time - all delivered with relaxed confidence.
