Gypsy Jazz Meeting: Gismo Graf Trio - ft. Stochelo Rosenberg & Cheyenne
Luisenpark Mannheim, Germany
24 €
Gypsy jazz has a new name: Gismo Graf! At just 29 years old, he can already boast a remarkable career and four albums. This young musician belongs to the generation of "young rebels" who, with respect for tradition, give gypsy jazz a contemporary face.
With charisma and youthful charm, he continues the tradition his father, mentor and collaborator Joschi Graf instilled in him from childhood: the captivating style in the spirit of the great Django Reinhardt. Through his innovative approach, he seemingly effortlessly blends various genres - jazz, pop, swing and bossa nova. Together with Joel Lochner (double bass) and Joschi Graf (guitar, vocals), he constantly works on new material. The trio captivates audiences with its relaxed, entertaining stage presence and sheer joy of playing, surprising and thrilling listeners right to the back rows. Another talent from the family is Gismo's 25-year-old sister Cheyenne, who expands the trio into a quartet with her beautiful warm voice.
Dutchman Stochelo Rosenberg, who with his world-renowned Rosenberg Trio has achieved success around the globe for over 30 years, is another gypsy jazz superstar. His career is graced by collaborations with musical legends such as Stephane Grappelli, Luciano Pavarotti, Shirley Bassey, Randy Crawford and The Manhattan Transfer.
With him and Gismo Graf, we welcome two of the finest gypsy jazz guitarists of our time to the lakeside stage in Luisenpark. Park admission from 4 p.m. is included in the ticket price.
