Das Kalendermädchen
by Sebastian Fitzek, adapted for the stage by Christian Scholze
Eleven years ago, Alma was given up for adoption under mysterious circumstances. One condition of the adoption was that the identity of her biological parents must never be revealed. Now, however, she has fallen gravely ill and urgently needs a bone marrow donor. In desperation, her mother Olivia sets out to find the biological parents - with no idea of the terrifying depths that await her.
She comes across the legend of the "Kalendermädchen": a young woman who, years ago at Christmastime, retreated to a remote cottage seeking peace. Instead, she was hunted by a psychopath who forced her to open an advent calendar of horrors.
Olivia realises she must travel to that traumatised town, enter that cottage and find the psychopath - it is the only way to save her daughter.
