The Magic of St. Petersburg Nights - Marina and Michael Kaljushny return to Scharwenkahaus

Join pianist Marina Kaljushny and her husband and musical partner Michael Kaljushny on a journey through their shared birthplace, St. Petersburg.

The programme features scenes from Pyotr Tchaikovsky's ballet Swan Lake, waltzes by Dmitri Shostakovich, romances by Sergei Rachmaninoff, and music from Sergei Prokofiev's ballet Romeo and Juliet.

Quotations from writers Alexandre Dumas and Vladimir Kaminer add a literary dimension to this musical portrait of the city at the mouth of the Neva - also known as the Venice of the North - drawing on two very different eras. An evening for dreaming, listening and marvelling.
