From autumn 2026, Ferdinand von Schirach takes his new programme "Der stille Freund" on tour through Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It explores human triumph and failure, friendship, hope, Greek Stoic philosophy and death. The show takes a wholly independent form, drawing on his book of the same name - yet what unfolds on stage can only be experienced live.

"Der Spiegel" called Ferdinand von Schirach a "great storyteller", the "New York Times" an "extraordinary stylist"; "The Independent" compared him to Kafka and Kleist, the "Financial Times" to Raymond Carver, and the "Daily Telegraph" wrote that he is "one of the most distinctive voices in European literature".
