STEPHAN ZINNER - "PRACHTEXEMPLAR"
between stage, hardware store and the family table
a cabaret reading with music
As an actor, cabaret artist and musician, Stephan Zinner knows this much: the toughest audience is waiting at home - his own family. Still, he happily takes on the challenges: cooking trendy soul food, acting as the family's transport coordinator, chief Christmas-tree buyer, handyman and son-in-law. He doesn't always get applause for it, the risk of injury is real and the pay is low - but a smile is worth far more. With one of those, you can even put up with the world outside, full of blinkered people rushing headlong toward self-optimization.
He also tackles the big questions of humanity: Is a sausage salad a bowl? What does the family calendar have to do with the space-time continuum? Are treadmills deadly machines from hell? And why does a slice of orange float in wheat beer?
With sharp, understated humor, Stephan Zinner answers these and many other questions in his new book - in gloriously comic fashion. He is joined musically by Maxi Pongratz on accordion and Matthias Meichelböck on flugelhorn. With their band "Koflgschroa", these two Oberammergau musicians are well known to audiences well beyond the Spotify universe.
Stephan Zinner, born in 1974, is an actor, author, musician and cabaret artist. He has performed at the Landestheater Salzburg and the Kammerspiele in Munich, and spent an unforgettable fifteen years playing Markus Söder in the Singspiel at the Nockherberg. Since 2016 he has been part of the cast of the nationally successful Eberhofer crime series based on Rita Falk's novels, and can also be seen in the Munich "Polizeiruf 110" and in the lead role of the BR six-parter "Himmel Herrgott Sakrament".
He regularly performs musical readings across Germany and Austria, including with Hannes Ringlstetter ("2 Typen, 2 Gitarren, 2 Bücher") and Stefan Leonhardsberger.
