In her songs, Romantic-era poems float with wonderful lightness across jazz arrangements. The enchanting, nocturnal thoughts of Rainer Maria Rilke, Joseph von Eichendorff, Heinz Kahlau and other poets are reinterpreted by the band - sensitively, surprisingly and with layered sonority. This creates lyrical compositions that preserve the timeless beauty of the texts while bringing them into the present.

The arrangements by the Nordic-born Sauerland resident and musicians from Leipzig and Cologne are rich in colour and finely nuanced. Between floating melancholy and powerful dynamics unfolds a tension carried by Jelen's charismatic voice.
