Langenargener Festspiele | The Three Musketeers - Culture in the Afternoon — Münzhof Langenargen, Langenargen

In the evening programme of the Langenargener Festspiele, "The Three Musketeers" unfolds as a tense, fast-paced theatrical event combining sword-and-cloak adventure, subtle humour, and sheer theatrical joy:

France in 1628. During a time of political tension, young d'Artagnan sets out for Paris, determined to become a musketeer of the king. But right from the start, he encounters Athos, Porthos and Aramis - three of the country's most famous musketeers. To his great surprise, they are women: daring, eager for a fight, fond of drinking, and full of energy. Together they find themselves caught in a dangerous game of love, loyalty, betrayal and intrigue at court.

When a conspiracy threatens the queen, the stakes become far greater than personal ambition. Friendship, trust and solidarity are put to the test…

The Langenargener Festspiele's production presents this famous story in a surprising interpretation and invites audiences to a theatrical experience that entertains, captivates and takes a stand. A theatrical journey about freedom, solidarity and the courage to stand together for what is right - set against the unique backdrop of Lake Constance.

This version, specially produced by the Langenargener Festspiele, was written and directed by director Andreas Kloos and premiered on 10 June 2023 as part of the festival's sixth season.
