I Count My Sorrows Daily - Schlager Hits of the 1950s and 1960s

Wuppertal mezzo-soprano Julia Nikolajczyk and pianist Thorsten Schäffer return with their schlager programme - this time joined by drummer Udo Kempen. Under the title "I Count My Sorrows Daily", the three musicians present melodies from the German schlager era of the 1950s and 1960s, specially arranged for voice, electric piano, and drums.

The programme features hits by Caterina Valente, Peter Alexander, Gitte & Rex, and many other artists. Nikolajczyk and Schäffer have been collaborating since 2013 and have since developed programmes spanning opera, operetta, musical, and schlager. Their first schlager programme "Come a Little Way to Italy" (2016) and its successor "Two on a Bench" (2018) were very well received.

Udo Kempen has been active for years in various ensembles and genres, and this time brings the groove on drums.
