I Count My Worries Every Day - German Hits of the 1950s and 1960s — Dachstudio der Stadtbibliothek, Dinslaken

The golden age of German popular song is back, and with it Julia Nikolajczyk and Thorsten Schäffer! Under the title "I Count My Worries Every Day", the two Wuppertal musicians, this time joined by drummer Udo Kempen, take you on a journey through the world of German hits from the 1950s and 1960s.

Listen to the melodies of Caterina Valente and Peter Alexander performed live once more, and sing along to the unforgettable hits of Gitte & Rex and many others.

Mezzosoprano Julia Nikolajczyk and pianist Thorsten Schäffer met in Wuppertal in 2013. The musical chemistry worked, and they quickly began developing joint projects. In addition to the pop project "Let my music speak", where both artists presented their own pop compositions spanning two decades, they now have numerous programmes in the fields of opera, operetta and musical, in which they feel equally at home. In 2016 they created the hit programme "Komm ein bisschen mit nach Italien", which was an immediate success. In 2018, their follow-up "Zwei auf einer Bank" once again brought a wealth of memorable songs. With "I Count My Worries Every Day", the Wuppertal duo wants to pay homage once more to the era of the economic miracle through music, building on this tremendous response.

They are particularly delighted that Udo Kempen is joining the ensemble this time, bringing the right groove on drums. Udo Kempen has been playing in various formations for many years and feels at home in all genres. Whether rock, pop, musical or hits are on the programme, he is a sensitive accompanist who creates the right atmosphere.

Experience the three artists in petticoats, bow ties and a colourful array of "feel-good music", specially arranged for voice, electric piano and drums!
