The big day has arrived: Käthe is no longer a kindergartner - she's a real schoolgirl now! Great! If only it weren't for the nerves that leave her speechless in class... Luckily, Shrimpie is sitting right next to her. She's so kind that she even swaps sandwiches with her. The two very different girls quickly become best friends and share plenty of adventures during their first days at school.

Moni Port and Claudia Weikert make a confident duo - both illustrators, both authors, both award-winners many times over. With Port handling the text and Weikert the illustrations, they created "Shrimpie & ich" (Kibitz Verlag), a children's comic that captures what those first school days really feel like - and how joy and fear can sit surprisingly close together. Touching, funny, and genuinely gripping!
