Matthias Ningel - "Harmonie"

In his fifth solo show, Ningel takes on the big picture: harmony - in music and in society. The ancient Greeks already had a bold idea: musical harmony and cosmic harmony are built on the same underlying order. Ningel picks up that thread and asks how harmony is holding up in the present day. Why does our era feel so off-beat? Is the pulse of the times less a heartbeat and more a case of ventricular fibrillation? And why can't all these misanthropes sing or dance?

From agonising kidney stones to hidden tragedies lurking beneath the laminate floor, to the omnipresence of screens in public spaces - Ningel translates social phenomena into music using voice, piano, synthesizer and an assortment of small instruments.
