SPUREN III | Works by Andrea and Giovanni Gabrieli, Heinrich Schütz, Mathias Weckmann, Dietrich Buxtehude, Johann Sebastian Bach, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Kilian Homburg, first-prize winner of the XIV International Gottfried Silbermann Organ Competition in 2023, makes his music festival debut at the Eule organ in Zeitz Cathedral.

The programme spans from St. Mark's Basilica in Venice - with works by the Gabrielis - through the Protestant lands, where composers from Schütz to Bach take centre stage. The concert concludes with a contrapuntal masterpiece by Mozart, originally composed for a mechanical music box and once heard in the Vienna Cabinet of Wax Figures and Curiosities.
