Spin Without Spinning Out - Pottery Wheel Course

Wheel-throwing pottery for beginners and those with some experience

Two days away from everyday stress, getting hands-on and creative? Designing your own coffee mugs and breakfast plates? Our monthly weekend wheel-throwing courses are designed to ease you into working at the potter's wheel. With individual guidance, we teach the core techniques needed to shape simple vessels - right through to the finished, glazed piece. No prior experience required. By the end of the course, everyone will be holding their first self-thrown muesli bowls, coffee mugs, and perhaps quite a bit more. The skills you gain can then be built on in the Open Workshop.

Course content:

- Centering, opening, setting the floor, and pulling up the walls of a vessel
- Trimming and attaching handles
- Clay preparation
- Painting and glazing (in the open workshop, at no extra cost)

The course is offered as a weekend course or alternatively as an ongoing course with 5 sessions.
Weekend course times: Saturday and Sunday, 10:00-17:00 each day
