An Evening with Sophia Fritz

Men still hold most of the power and shape the structures of society - yet behind that picture lies a contradictory reality: men who withdraw, go silent, or remain emotionally unreachable, in relationships, families, and within themselves. Starting from the loss of her brother, Sophia Fritz goes in search of answers: how is masculinity formed today, and why is it so often bound up with pain - for men themselves and for those around them?

Following "Toxische Weiblichkeit", she now presents "Der Mann, das Opfer" (published 6 October 2026) - an analysis of patriarchal masculinity that also opens a view towards a freer, more vulnerable understanding of what it can mean to be a man today.

On 15 October, Sophia Fritz will be a guest at Buchhandlung Heymann in Hamburg's Eimsbüttel neighbourhood. The evening will be moderated by Shila Behjat. Please note: the venue is not wheelchair accessible.
