EMIL and the PELICAN MAN // Musical Theatre for Children Aged 8-12
Schlossplatztheater, Berlin, Germany
Emil seems to be the only one who notices that Mr. Mietling is something special. The man in unusual clothing is actually a pelican who wants to live like a human - because his homeland has fallen victim to environmental pollution and because he loves to sing. Emil's mother, who raises her son alone and is often exhausted from work, shows no interest in his discovery. A friendship develops between the boy and the bird in human clothing - until the adults realize that something is wrong with Mr. Mietling.
A theatrical production by Teresa Reiber in cooperation with Schlossplatztheater, supported by the District Office Treptow-Köpenick in Berlin, Cultural Department as part of the KiA programme - a programme to promote children's, youth and puppet theatre and performers in the field of Performing Arts for young audiences.
