Dancing Queen - Rameau Meets ABBA
Lautten Compagney Berlin and saxophonist Asya Feteyeva blend songs by ABBA (1972) with works by Jean-Philippe Rameau (1683-1764). The Swedish pop band and the high-baroque French master, two giants of European musical history, created works of great originality marked by distinctive melodies and vibrant rhythms.
Lautten Compagney, always open to innovation, has adapted ABBA's music for baroque instruments, arranged by Bo Wiget, and woven it together with Rameau's compositions. Often only on a second listen does the original creator become clear.
Full of exploratory spirit, Asaya Fateyeva dances as a true Dancing Queen on her saxophone, moving between worlds and commanding an almost limitless palette of tonal colours. With virtuosic mastery, she draws blazingly fast runs and the most delicate, singing arias from her instrument.
For their album "Dancing Queen", Lautten Compagney and Asya Fateyeva received the "Opus Klassik 2025" award as best ensemble.
