In 1917, the Russian Revolution topples the Romanov dynasty and murders all members of the imperial family. Yet a legend persists: is Anastasia, the tsar's youngest daughter, still alive? The musical ANASTASIA tells the thrilling story of Anja, a young woman with no past. Awakening as a teenager on the side of a road with nothing but fragmented memories and an unwavering desire, she yearns to discover who she truly is. On her journey, Anja meets the hardened Dimitri and his charming ally Vlad. Together, the two plan to find the missing tsarina Anastasia - or a young woman they can pass off as Anastasia. Anja is to travel with them to France, where Dimitri and Vlad hope to gain freedom and fortune. For the escaped tsarina mother has promised a reward to anyone who brings her granddaughter Anastasia to Paris.

The Musical Academy Tübingen e.V. has been an established institution for live musicals in Tübingen for ten years. In 2016, the 25-member ensemble with live band made their debut at the Tübingen Theater Löwen with "Rent" and has since produced a musical every year. Since the 2022 production of "Prom," the Musical Academy has performed at Kulturhalle Dußlingen, drawing over 2,000 guests across two typically sold-out weekends. With the concert version of "Anastasia - The Musical," the company with its own orchestra finally returns to the Tübingen stage this summer.
