Gala Concert at Thomaskirche Erfurt

Antonio Vivaldi's cycle "The Four Seasons" ranks among the most frequently performed works in European musical history. The four concertos, originally composed in 1725 for the orchestra of a Venetian orphanage, traverse the seasons from spring's awakening through summer storms and autumn celebrations to winter landscapes.

The first part of the concert features works by Boccherini through Mozart, before Vivaldi's cycle closes the evening.
