Martin Kohlstedt is among the leading composers, pianists, and producers of instrumental music and electronica. His previous albums and their reworked versions have gained international recognition, accompanied by concert tours around the world.

At his concerts, Martin Kohlstedt sets the standard for how cutting-edge electronic production merges with analog and acoustic approaches rooted in classical piano, ambient, field recordings, and score design. Kohlstedt intuitively finds a shared form for influences from such diverse worlds and creates from them a living organism: an immersive concert experience.

Kohlstedt describes his working method as modular composition - the pieces are in constant motion and follow no fixed form at his concerts. Improvisation is an essential part of his creative process, as is dialogue with the audience on equal footing, the courage to fail, searching, and interaction with people, space, and context.

Martin Kohlstedt has already collaborated with renowned partners such as the GewandhausChor Leipzig, with artists like Douglas Dare, Sudan Archives, and Henrik Schwarz, and labels like Warner Classics. In addition to his own compositions, Kohlstedt writes soundtracks for films, theatre productions, podcasts, and radio plays. Through Edition Kohlstedt, he runs his own label and strives to fulfill his responsibility as an artist through his own reforestation project.
