Frieda and the women of her group spend seven days at a hostel - in complete silence. A silence seminar meant for inner reflection becomes a test of nerves for Frieda: the overly healthy breakfast with goat cheese and mysterious "seed mix" raises eyebrows, and when loud stomach sounds shatter the silence during meditation, concentration becomes impossible.

Meanwhile, the husbands left at home pursue their hobbies. Wichbert, who lost his driver's license after a "two-component driving error," is driven by a desire for greater mobility - and even lays hands on the nativity scene. Viola, for her part, uses the erotic film "Fifty Shades of Grey" as an excuse to surprise Frieda and her unsuspecting friends with a hot evening.

The programme "Sprechpause" takes you through everyday situations involving big feet and robot vacuums, men in renovation frenzy and women in the grip of clever saleswomen - with Frieda's typical blend of curiosity, embarrassment and indignation.
