IC FALKENBERG has been performing since the age of ten. In the 1980s he moved from his role as singer, composer and lyricist with STERN MEISSEN to a solo career - 54 years on stage and 28 albums trace that journey. His approach has always been direct, with no excuses.

His new album "Komm an Land" looks back on a life driven by rebellion and self-assertion. Far from the rules of the music industry, he crafts layered, atmospherically dense compositions with sharp lyrics - abstract and associative in a way that few other German-language artists sustain so consistently.

His songs combine an elegiac mood with literary ambition, candid intimacy with melancholy and wry humour. The result sits well outside the ordinary rock song - sensitive, but never sentimental.
