Bravo Buenos Aires - Argentine Tango and European String Quartet

Facundo Barreyra composes and arranges music that blends elements of Argentine folk music and tango with the European format of the string quartet.

The originality of this music is striking, and the ensemble - string quartet together with bandoneon and Bombo Legüero (a percussion instrument rooted in South American indigenous tradition) - is as unusual as it is cohesive.

The audience is drawn into a distinctive sound world that also mirrors the stages of Facundo Barreyra's life: from his beginnings as a percussionist in Argentine folk music, through his time as a jazz drummer and his love of bandoneon and tango, to his encounter with Europe, where he has lived and worked for more than seven years. South America and Europe meet through music.
