Feminist linguist Luise F. Pusch was born in 1944 and grew up with her single mother in East Westphalia. From 1963 onwards, she studied English, Latin, and general linguistics in Hamburg.

As a lesbian woman in a homophobic society, she experienced many painful and violent encounters - while simultaneously building a successful academic career, receiving scholarships and awards, and being awarded the Bundesverdienstkreuz in 2025.

Since 1981, she has published books. Her latest work, "Against the Silence. My Somewhat Different Childhood and Youth", appeared in 2022 and is the focus of this reading with conversation at Kulturgut Haus Nottbeck.
