A baroque bouquet
Who doesn't know Vivaldi's "Spring"? The composer painted a scene on a flower meadow in sound - the cheerful chirping of the violins, the gentle breezes and babbling brooks all conjure an idyllic, springtime mood.
This year's Summer Academy is dedicated to discovering floral imagery and word-painting in baroque compositions, with participants playing together in both large and small ensembles. Alongside strings and keyboard instruments, the programme also features the more delicately strung instruments: harp, theorbo, salterio and traverso flute.
The academy participants will perform under the direction of tutors Anne Schumann, Elisabeth Seitz, Johanna Seitz, Michael Dücker, Brian Berryman and Gösta Funck.
Admission: 7 € | concession: 3.50 €
