Chris de Burgh - A SUMMER NIGHT WITH CHRIS de BURGH
Konzerthaus Stadthalle Heidelberg, Germany
Chris de Burgh is hitting the road solo again - and the demand shows no sign of letting up. His one-man shows have been so well received that summer 2026 brings yet another run, this time under the title "A Summer Night with Chris de Burgh". Audiences are enthusiastic and critics full of praise for how the singer, guitarist and pianist delivers a career-spanning set of around 30 songs in over two hours, armed with nothing but his voice and an instrument.
Thirteen dates across Germany run from 12 July to 1 August. Tickets are available in advance.
"What makes his concerts so special is their reduction to the essentials," wrote the city magazine Moritz. "Chris de Burgh proves that great songs don't need a great band. Hearing 'The Lady In Red' or 'Missing You' in their original acoustic versions is a genuine highlight. Many of his songs tell stories that have moved people around the world - from intimate love songs to epic narratives about humanity, war and hope. In his solo shows, that storytelling quality comes through more powerfully than ever. Audiences get an artist who achieves a big impact with very little - just voice, instrument and heart. It's a journey through five decades of music history with a man who takes the stage with authenticity, feeling and real respect for his audience."
"Reducing Chris de Burgh to his soft-focus ballads was always a mistake," added the BZ Berlin reviewer. "Yes, many of his songs are on the quieter side... but the bulk of his output - now stretching to 330 songs - is simply pop music of the highest order. And songs like 'Spanish Train', 'Transmission Ends' or 'Don't Pay the Ferryman' are about as far from schmaltz as you can get."
