This exceptional concert promises musical "encounters" of a special kind. The Mongolian-Persian ensemble Sedaa combines the archaic sounds of traditional Mongolian music with Oriental harmonies and rhythms in a fascinating journey along the Silk Road. The group's name is its mission: "Sedaa" is the Persian word for "voice". At the heart are master vocalist Naraa Naranbaatar and dulcimer virtuoso Ganzorig Davaakhuu, who perfected their craft at the state conservatory in Ulan Bator. Together with Iranian multi-instrumentalist Omid Bahadori, they create an exotic soundscape between East and steppe.

The foundation of their compositions is natural sound, created with traditional instruments and ancient vocal techniques of nomadic ancestors. Particularly fascinating is the art of producing multiple tones simultaneously. Vibrating undertone singing and the throat-singing technique "Hömii" merge in Sedaa with the melancholic tones of the "Morin Khuur" (horsehead fiddle), the Mongolian bass "Ikh Khuur", virtuosic dulcimer passages and pulsing drum rhythms into a mystical sound tapestry. In their sound, the simple, meditative vibe of the steppe meets diverse Oriental flair. The ensemble is also open to Western influences such as funk and rock, without diluting their own essence - world music in the truest sense.

That this concept goes far beyond mere exoticism is proven by numerous awards. Sedaa is, for example, winner of the federal competition "Creole", where the jury praised the "brilliant blend of tradition and modernity" and "perfect cultural fusion".
