Sketch of a Summer
Theaterschiff Potsdam, Germany
"Sketch of a Summer" brings André Kubiczek's Potsdam novel to the stage of Theaterschiff Potsdam as a literary-musical evening. Isabell Gerschke and Christian Näthe combine reading, singing, and music in a tribute to the 1980s.
At the heart is René, a 16-year-old boy, summer 1985, Potsdam. His mother is dead, his father away - René spends the long summer break alone at home with a thousand marks. He and his friends roam through the hot, tourist-empty city, sit in cafés, and search above all for the right girl.
Gerschke and Näthe perform music together and sing songs that appear in the book and matter to the protagonist - 1980s music, including The Cure. Actress Isabell Gerschke is known from "Polizeiruf 110", "In aller Freundschaft", and "Heiter bis tödlich: Akte Ex"; Christian Näthe is the singer of the cult band "Hasenscheisse" and an actor known from "Wilsberg" and "Fack ju Göhte".
After more than twenty sold-out performances, this is one of the next opportunities to see this production.
