But our genius could not refuse an invitation from an old acquaintance, the Baroness von Zuckerberg, to a gala dinner. So here we are, dining in the adjacent room of the restaurant where you will enjoy a delicious three-course menu this evening.

Fleeing from his talkative dinner companion, the endlessly chattering Baroness, the detective barely misses the alleged murder of the host's husband, Baron von Zuckerberg.

Admittedly, his health had seen better days. But to suddenly topple face-first into maultaschen soup is hardly the refined English way to depart this world - even in Swabia. For Sherlock Holmes, however, the evening that had been deadly dull up to this point is now saved.

A crime is afoot - and a most baffling one at that, for the autopsy results seemingly rule out any poisoning. The interrogation of witnesses, the medical examiner, and some of the dinner guests leaves many a seemingly innocent soul in the room looking rather suspicious.
With enthusiasm and in high spirits, the famous detective sets his little grey cells to work. Swabian cunning begins to take hold, yet no false builder can easily fool the master. For him, the solution soon becomes crystal clear. As always, he leaves us fumbling in the dark a while longer before he virtuously exposes the murderer.
