A curator-led tour of the Pirnaer Skulpturensommer 2026 exhibition with curator Christiane Stoebe.

The theme "Dazwischen" ("In Between") explores threshold states - between different forms of being and perception, between clear-cut categories. The exhibition brings together Czech and German artists from various generations whose work engages with precisely these tensions and ambivalences.

About the venue: Bastionen der Festung Sonnenstein

The bastions of Festung Sonnenstein form part of the Renaissance fortification built above Pirna in the 16th century. The hilltop complex overlooks the Elbe valley and today serves as an open-air venue for concerts, historical events and seasonal markets. The well-preserved ramparts and panoramic views make it a distinctive setting for outdoor events.
