Description was written before the event

Students of the Johann-Gottfried-Herder-Gymnasium in Pirna explore the theme of Pirnaer Skulpturensommer 2026 - "Dazwischen" ("In Between") - and lead visitors through the exhibition alongside curator Christiane Stoebe.

About the venue: Bastionen der Festung Sonnenstein

The bastions of Festung Sonnenstein form part of the Renaissance fortification built above Pirna in the 16th century. The hilltop complex overlooks the Elbe valley and today serves as an open-air venue for concerts, historical events and seasonal markets. The well-preserved ramparts and panoramic views make it a distinctive setting for outdoor events.
