Hornschuchpromenade, Fürth, Germany
11 €
This walk takes you through two of the city's most beautiful streets from the Gründerzeit era: Königswarterstraße and Hornschuchpromenade. Built between 1883 and 1904, the impressive mansions lining these streets showcase historicism and Art Nouveau architecture. The generous design of the promenade itself is unique in Fürth. The fact that the Ludwig Railway ran along the green central median was a testament to the city's modernity. The ornate facades of these houses reflect the wealth of their former owners, including prominent Fürth families like the Löwensohn picture-book manufacturers and brewery owner Evora. All were major benefactors of the city.
