Ayom (AGO, BRA, ITA, PRT, GRC)

To kick off the Flensburger Hofkultur season, the five-nation sextet AYOM takes the audience at Schifffahrtsmuseum on a musical journey across the Black Atlantic - from Brazil through Angola and Cape Verde to the Mediterranean.

Led by Brazilian singer and percussionist Jabu Morales, the group blends tropical and Mediterranean sounds into a driving, dance-floor-ready mix. Merengue, samba, cumbia, calypso, tarantella, polka... After celebrated appearances at the Fusion Festival and the Copenhagen Jazz Festival, AYOM brings its award-winning fusion energy to Flensburg.

"Ayom" - the "lord of music" in Afro-Brazilian mythology - lends the evening its name and spirit. Time to dance into a new Hofkultur season!
