Bach zur Nacht II

Under this year's festival theme, the music of Johann Sebastian Bach is presented as a powerful act of creation and inspiration. Two remarkable Pentecost cantatas by the celebrated Thomaskantor will be performed on this evening. Both works illustrate Bach's extraordinary ability to weave vocal and instrumental lines into a vivid, spiritual soundscape.

The music becomes a sacred narrative, bringing the Pentecost event to life in all its ceremonial drama and spiritual depth. Bach preaches here in tones, crafting in his compositions a musical "conversation" about the divine fire of the Holy Spirit that filled the disciples at Pentecost.
