Bach zur Nacht II

As part of this year's festival theme, the programme features two Whitsun cantatas by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750): "Erschallet, ihr Lieder" BWV 172 and "O ewiges Feuer, o Ursprung der Liebe" BWV 34. Both works combine vocal and instrumental voices into a sacred musical language that unfolds the Whitsun event in its dramatic and spiritual depth.

Performing are Capella Spirensis and Barockensemble L'arpa festante under the direction of Markus Melchiori.
