Alfred Dorfer
Jakobmayer Dorfen, Germany
In his new solo piece "GLEICH", Alfred Dorfer rapidly embodies a wide range of characters - grandmothers, innkeepers, bears, carp, sunflowers. This satirical one-man theatre tells a story with numerous narrative and temporal digressions, where different time layers interweave: poetry and wordplay, philosophy and imagination.
Dorfer is a trained mime and actor. As a keen observer of everyday life, he tackles socio-political trends with self-irony and biting humour - a style for which he has been awarded the German Small Arts Prize, the German and Bavarian Cabaret Prizes, and the Swiss Cornichon Cabaret Prize.
Beyond the stage, the Vienna-born artist works as an actor, author, director, and long-time host of a late-night talk show.
