Alfred Dorfer

In his new solo show - a satirical one-man theatre piece called "GLEICH" - Alfred Dorfer slips with characteristic elegance between a wide range of characters in rapid succession. Alongside grandmothers and innkeepers, the stage also fills with bears, carp and sunflowers. "GLEICH" tells its story through numerous narrative and temporal detours. Can we take what we see at face value? Time layers blur into one another, poetry and wordplay intertwine with philosophy and imagination.

In the German-speaking world, this satirist with a penchant for socio-political themes and his distinctive performance style is genuinely one of a kind. His training in mime and acting serves the Viennese performer well. With easy confidence and plenty of self-deprecation, Alfred Dorfer - a sharp observer of everyday life - skewers social trends with the lightness of a born rhetorician.
