MAFFAY pur - few tribute acts get this close to the legend. Since forming in 2018, Wolfgang Terne (vocals/guitar) and his bandmates have delivered handcrafted music with genuine authenticity, passion and deep respect for Peter Maffay's life's work.

Shortly after their debut in January 2019 at Café Hahn in Koblenz, the band was already selling out shows - at Festung Ehrenbreitstein, at "Rhein In Flammen in Bonn" and on prestigious stages across Germany. Audience reactions say it all: "Maffay pur was so close to the original that you sometimes couldn't tell whether Peter Maffay himself was standing on stage."

The band ranks among the best in their genre and has twice taken first place as Best Cover/Revival Band at the Deutschen Rock & Pop Preis. On the SAT.1 show "The Tribute - Die Show der Musiklegenden" they made it all the way to the final, where Bertram Engel - Peter Maffay's drummer and a jury member - called their performance "better than the original".

The line-up is made up of seasoned professionals: frontman Wolfgang Terne has shared the stage with Sister Sledge, Zucchero, Thomas Anders and Max Mutzke. Nico Schliemann, one of Germany's most sought-after guitarists who has played with Helene Fischer, Beatrice Egli and Maite Kelly, has been adding his virtuoso guitar work since 2025. Rainer Scheithauer (keyboards, including work with Herbert Grönemeyer), Franco Zeleny (bass, PUR) and Oliver Schmandke (drums) provide the authentic backbone. Since 2024, Ela Querfeld has also joined the team, bringing vocals, percussion and keyboards as a multi-talented addition.
