Il Rondo - Dances Through the Ages

The Kassel quartet "Il Rondo" takes audiences on a journey through dance music spanning four centuries and ten countries. Courtly baroque ballroom dances are set against the spirited sounds of Romanticism - a mannered minuet gives way to a stately waltz, an Irish jig meets a Hungarian csárdás.

The programme features works in dance rhythms by Brahms, Boccherini, Kreisler, de Falla, Dvořák, Johann Strauss, and others.
