EVA KARL FALTERMEIER - DING DONG
Asamtheater Freising, Germany
Eva Karl Faltermeier is known for her sharp wit and distinctive style that captivates audiences across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein. In her third stage programme "Ding Dong", she remains true to form, sharing her socio-political observations with viewers. Her material often draws from her own background and life's quirks - perfect for drawing conclusions from the small to the grand.
Her stage persona tackles the multiple challenges of everyday life caught between impossible social norms and cultural roots. This emotional mix can provoke a sense of powerlessness - a powerlessness many share. To break free from it, Eva Karl Faltermeier constructs stories with humour.
Her great art lies in presenting oddities and the most serious topics with a wink. Laughter as a coping strategy - for time, upheaval, and goals; for what's missing, what one has, and where it should lead. In the end, the conviction remains that everything is somehow manageable. No one spoke of perfection. In recent years, Eva Karl Faltermeier has quickly made a name for herself in the scene, received awards and given them, appeared in and hosted television shows. Yet the heart of her artistic work remains the live evenings, when she performs for her audience with passion. An artist you simply must like. At a distance, of course.
"I want people to laugh, think, and feel good at the same time," says Eva. "Cabaret is for me a way to reflect the world while making people smile - also about themselves and above all: about my mistakes."
