Pop meets Classic - Blasorchester Berstadt - Open-Air Concert at Summer by the Lake

The Blasorchester of Turnverein 1906 Berstadt has earned its reputation through "Pop meets Classic" concerts. Under the direction of Josef Retter, the musicians captivated audiences both at Berstadt's 1200th anniversary celebration in a packed festival tent and at two consecutive sold-out performances at the Wetterauhalle.

The brass band is supported by the Harmonika Big Band from Haiger. This accordion ensemble draws unexpected, modern sounds from their instruments and enriches the orchestra, which is known throughout the region for outstanding concerts. Josef Retter has engaged renowned vocal soloists: Bettina Skottke, Wasilena Dlugosch, Timo Semlitsch, and Tom Pfeiffer.

For nearly 60 musicians, Josef Retter has prepared a programme that will appeal to fans of many different musical styles. Alongside well-known classical works, rock anthems will be performed that invite singing and clapping along, all accompanied by a spectacular light show.
