Jürgen Hörig with Benny Eisel - Favourite Songs - An Evening of Songs and Lyrics

Jürgen Hörig has hosted the "Landesschau" programme on SWR for almost 25 years and presented the afternoon show "Kaffee oder Tee" for a decade - thousands of broadcasts. Yet in recent years he has also made a name for himself as a singer and songwriter: two albums, many self-written lyrics, and regular performances on stages throughout the region.

At his side is Benny Eisel, whose guitar playing alone nearly replaces an entire band. Together they perform not only their own songs, but Hörig also tells how the lyrics came about, what they mean, and what story lies behind them - both well-known hits and original pieces. The programme is called "Songs und Lyrics", and that is exactly what it is: music with context.

The press judges: "You get the impression that something genuine and honest is happening here - a real sense of authenticity." (Zeitungsverlag Waiblingen) - "With a keen sense for his audience, Hörig tells the stories behind his songs." (Badische Neueste Nachrichten) - "A lyrical, poetic walk without pathos." (Baden-Online)
