100 Miles

In 2026, Miles Davis would have turned 100 years old. As a trumpeter with an unmistakable tone, bandleader, and style icon, the "Prince of Darkness" shaped jazz styles such as bebop, modal jazz, and electric jazz - and his influence extended far beyond the jazz world.

Under the title "100 Miles", Christian Brückner and the Martin Auer Quintet illuminate unusual facets of his music and personality. Brückner, known as the voice of Robert De Niro in German dubbing, guides the evening as narrator. Musically, he is accompanied by the Martin Auer Quintet: Martin Auer (trumpet), Florian Trübsbach (saxophone), Jan Eschke (piano), Andreas Kurz (bass), and Bastian Jütte (drums). The quintet, which has been performing jazz in various forms for over a quarter century, has already brought Miles Davis's legacy into the present day in an original way with the album "Our Kind of".
