100 Miles
Sheddachhalle, Göttingen, Germany
25 €
In 2026, jazz legend Miles Davis would have turned 100. Trumpeter with an unmistakable sound, bandleader, style icon and innovator - the "Prince of Darkness" shaped genres from bebop and modal jazz to electric jazz, leaving a mark far beyond the jazz world.
Under the title "100 Miles", Christian Brückner and the Martin Auer Quintett explore lesser-known facets of Davis's music and personality. Christian Brückner, celebrated as the iconic German dubbing voice of Robert De Niro, narrates the evening. The musical programme is in the hands of the Martin Auer Quintett - Martin Auer (trumpet), Florian Trübsbach (saxophone), Jan Eschke (piano), Andreas Kurz (bass) and Bastian Jütte (drums) -, a group that has lived and breathed jazz in many forms for over a quarter of a century and with "Our Kind of" brought the Miles Davis legacy into the present in their own distinctive way.
An event of the 35th Göttinger Literaturherbst in cooperation with Jazzfestival Göttingen e.V.
