After years of marriage, Jessica has had enough. She and her husband Peter have been drifting along side by side, bored and indifferent. To stop this from going on forever, she has filed for divorce - against Peter's wishes. Her best friend Sandra, a lawyer, is handling all the paperwork.

Jessica has already moved into a sleek modern apartment, where she lives with her new partner Nic. He manages, with remarkable ease, to anticipate her every need and shield her from any trouble. The fact that he is also attractive, in great shape, and younger than Peter only adds to the picture-perfect impression - and stings Peter deeply. Sandra is thoroughly taken with Nic and longs for a partner just like him.

When Peter meets his successor before the divorce hearing, he quickly realises that the flawless Nic outshines him in every possible way. Annoyed and wounded, he concedes defeat - for now. But he doesn't give up. He comes back, and what he finds throws him completely.

The comedy asks how desirable a perfect relationship really is, and what consequences finding the ideal partner might bring. With plenty of humour and a light touch on serious themes, the play explores where the pursuit of perfecting love and life can lead.
